![]() ![]() it means that i agree with Frederick Douglass when he said "let a man get an Egal on his button, a musket on his shoulder and bullets in his pocket and there is no power on earth which can deny that he has earned the right to citizenship in the united states". it means like some of the first soldiers who fought with the patriots because they believed "an independent America would mean freedom for all if there is anything i can do for my country or family and friends i will do it without a second though while smiling. it means like Martin Luther King who once said "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" i will not be put down by those around me for what i believe in and i am willing to pay the ultimate price to make sure my goal is accomplished. To me 'America i am "means many different things", it means like the slavery that used to be seen as not only good but normal i have come a long way. So overall the "America I Am" exhibit means to me to be free and work for what you want in life. jail cell which explained to me everything he went through as a Civil Rights Leader and the scarifices he made. Last the most thing I loved that spoke to me the most was the Martin Luther King Jr. ![]() ![]() This exhibit taught me a lot of things it taught me about young African American boys that made it in life for example Tupac Shakur he started off poor and turned a gift he had which is rapping into a hobby and made a living he used rapping as a part of him self to vent his feelings. Also most African Americans freed there selves in many ways they went to church, sung in choirs and preached their holly beliefs. Another example is that the 13th amendment abolished slavery which granted slaves freedom. Douglass served in the army and how he earned is citizenship rights "Serving In The Army Established him Great Justice he earned his right to citizenship". I say that it means this because most exhibits I have seen today talk about freedom and how they are Americans today for example The Frederick Douglass Exhibit talked about how Mr. I am loyal to my country and worship its grounds. The title "America I Am" means that I am proud to be an American. ![]()
